Our goal with this event is to take over a frequently used venue in the area and TRANSFORM IT in it’s entirety. All we need is space….and we do the rest! The party is not centered around a lineup of dj’s tossed into a room. The party is about EMOTION. STIMULATION. INTERACTION. The dj’s complement the theme, the theme transforms the venue, the people & the ideas make the party.

2012 or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Dimensional Shift

DESCRIPTION:

We will be screening an exclusive clip from author Daniel Pinchbeck’s new documentary, 2012: A Time for Change. This night promises to be an evening of transformations with film screening, group discussion, performance art, and the psychedelic dance music/visual projections of the Megadrives. $7 suggested donation.

“Where will you be when the 5,125 year Long Count Calendar of the Classical Maya ends on December, 21, 2012? Will you be hiding in an underground cave from global cataclysm and magnetic polar reversal? Will you be entering a multidimensional realm of hyperspace triggered by mass activation of the pineal gland? Will you be picking up the pieces of a ruined world or dancing the night away at the party at the end of time?

Considering that nobody knows what’s going to happen in 2012, the end of the Mayan Calendar functions as a tremendously intriguing meme upon which we can project our hopes and fears, dreams and desires. Hollywood has now offered up a massive collective shadow projection in the form of a $250 million disaster epic that takes the aesthetics of annihilation to a new pitch of perfection. Paradoxically, this doom-riddled blockbuster could create a great opening to offer an alternative vision of what 2012 could be for our planet. Potentially, 2012 could represent the coming-to-consciousness of the human species, in which we take responsibility for our role as agents of conscious evolution.

A rising grassroots movement now realizes we can no longer expect governments, corporations, or any outside authority to create the beautiful world we long to live in. We have to do it ourselves. This growing network of Evolvers, Burners, Bioneers, Transition Towners, and others are developing new cooperative networks that can help heal our planet while providing sustainable solutions to the disastrously unsustainable economic and political systems that disempower people, keeping them asleep.

For this month’s Spore, over thirty cities will host conversations on 2012 and the evolution of consciousness, including ‘counter-screenings’ to Sony Pictures’ ‘2012′ world-catastrophe film. Spores may preview a portion of Mangusta Productions upcoming feature-length documentary ‘2012: Time for Change,’ directed by Joao Amorim and starring ‘2012′ author Daniel Pinchbeck, along with a section of Disinfo’s DVD ‘2012: Science our Superstition,’ produced by Gary Baddeley. Also, bestselling author John Major Jenkins will give a short video presentation for those participating in the Spores. Afterward, we will discuss indigenous prophecies and global transformation, and how to prepare ourselves and our communities for rapid changes to come.”

THE MEGADRIVES music featured in movie soundtrack!

FAGBUG (83 min)
from vandalized to idolized

On the 11th Annual National Day of Silence, Erin Davies was victim to a hate crime in Albany, New York. Because of sporting a rainbow sticker on her VW Beetle, Erin’s car was vandalized, left with the words “fag” and “u r gay” placed on the driver’s side window and hood of her car. Despite initial shock and embarrassment, Erin decided to embrace what happened by leaving the graffiti on her car. She took her car, now known worldwide as the “fagbug,” on a 58-day trip around the United States and Canada. Along the way, Erin discovered other, more serious hate crimes, had people attempt to remove the graffiti, and experimented with having a male drive her car. After driving the fagbug for one year, Erin decided to give her car a makeover.

THE MEGADRIVES have several tracks featured in this film.
From their album “Press Start”, this features the songs:
“Ghetto Space Eater”, “Press Start”, “Spooky Shadows” and more…
