Legal Warehouse Party in the nation’s capital! Featuring:

- LED Hoopers, psychedelic gogo dancers, & poi spinners
- state of the art laser & light show
- mindnumbing visualizations projected on multiple screens
- Free UV body painting all night
- Live art displays
- Decorations throughout the venue
- sound enhancements by B.A.D.ASS official sound crew
- 6 dj’s playing psychedelic & intelligent dance music

Our goal with this event is to take over a frequently used venue in the area and TRANSFORM IT in it’s entirety. All we need is space….and we do the rest! The party is not centered around a lineup of dj’s tossed into a room. The party is about EMOTION. STIMULATION. INTERACTION. The dj’s complement the theme, the theme transforms the venue, the people & the ideas make the party.

Presenting the 4TH ANNUAL CYTOPLASTIK EAST VS WEST electro-psyche-dance BATTLE ROYALE on SATurday the 26th at the Talking Head (now in the back/side of Sonar, 407 East Saratoga Street, Baltimore) with Comeback Ranch, Glass Knife, Psynet, DJ Doc Brown (of Biscuit & Brown) VJ Chroma (Justin Miller), MC Skuzzbunny, and of course the cost to cost intergalactic battle with THE MEGADRIVES VS THE INTERGON!!!!! Guaranteed to be a cra-ZEEE night!

THE MEGADRIVES

Electronic music is like any other genre, a varied and multifaceted universe of sound that branches out into various modes and atmospheres. From the pulse-pounding frenzy of drum & bass to the sonic schizophrenia of IDM to the psychedelic madness of rave to the dance floor whimsy of house, it’s becoming all the more common for electronic artists to expand their horizons, explore more than a single path, and merge all of these styles into a diverse yet cohesive sound. The Megadrives are one such group; hailing from Baltimore, MD, K-Rai and DJ Sheephead have been expanding their musical oeuvre for the past four years with an eclectic style of electronic that combines the dynamics of live experimentation with turntable techniques, all the while filled with a fluid and ever-changing ambiance enhanced by the visual projections of VJ Chroma. Fans of The Crystal Method, The Chemical Brothers, DJ? Acucrack and other such artists should be on the lookout for The Megadrives, as with the release of their debut album, Press Start, they beckon to provide a mind-bending experience that will undoubtedly carry them far in the realm of underground electronic music.

INTERGON

Assembled from different coasts, The council has been terrorizing the local dance floors with numerous DJ assassinations. Their brand of intelligent electronic music spans genres and defies expectations: Everything from rough riddims to lo- tempo funk, converging with ambient bliss. The rig is massive and the sound is rich, these cats bring out all the big guns when they play. What is unique about the Intergon is their Live Performance apporoach, where all three members actually create the electronic music you hear, along with original video and lighting schemes.

The core of the group consists of Baltimore bred :Oberon: who has been composing and performing in various forms since 1997 in the Cytoplastik collective. His intelligent design and love for rhythm & groove has led him to LA to manifest a West Coast Haven for the Cytoplastik. :Samtrak: also a Charm City native, he brings wicked charisma, hard hitting beats, and funky sounds to the group. He helped in the establishment of Cytoplastik Left by first venturing west in 99 and co-founding Left Side Productions. A Santa Fe native, :FreeQ: is the third in the triumvirate that is the Intergon. His passion for altering minds via variable frequency modulation is matched by none. Their entourage has been known to vary by show, incorporating vocals, drummers, and fellow LIVE artists from all over the country. You are guaranteed to experience a roller coaster of BPMs and as always, the live drum outro.

Also appearing:

Comeback Ranch

This man about town can be seen performing at Baltimore and DC venues such as the Current Gallery, Metro Gallery, X at Be bar, and Sonar. Also known as Project 301, The Beat Shaman, and Lord Grayson Brown. Using a combination of laptop and a hefty rig of hardware, which happens to include a custom built round 303 machine that faithfully reproduces the analog electro sound we all know and love, this man is always full of surprises but sure to throw down an infectious groove!

Glass Knife

Before there was the Bmore Electro More/Less forum and events there was Baltitronic. This man was the creator and founder of that site and events which had gone on for several years. Now focusing on his own craft the prolific artist seems to have no boundaries. With numerous aliases and side projects of music from the ambient industrial noise of Failed Utopia to the hardcore beat smashing of the grime, dubstep, and breakcore influenced sound of this project [Glass Knife]. With a new remix of the Baltimore based Abiku about to be released, this guy is well on his way to making a substantial mark in the underground electronic music history.

Psynet

A long time contributor to the Baltitronic events and other half of the live group Time Travelers Never Die. Hiding in the underground and working on remixes for The Megadrives, Aligning Minds, Comeback Ranch and being remixed by Oberon of the Intergon, this artist makes another rare appearance this year. Sure to please any fan of Underworld, Chemical Bros., Orbital and the like with an ever-growing influence of the sounds of artists like Killowatts and Boys Noize, who knows what next? But always sure to be dance-floor ready and fresh!

DJ Doc Brown

This is one DJ who knows his music. Part of the team of DJ Biscuit and Doc Brown who’s ‘New Magic In A Dusty World’ (Audio CD) you will find sold out on UnderGroundHipHop.com. These guys have also been featured on the esteemed psuedo-underground label Ninja Tune’s web-site. It’s no wonder, with their noticeably Coldcut-esque mixing techniques, the ability to mash 35 tracks on one mix CD and a strong Ninja Tune, old school hip-hop, vintage jazz, and even 80’s pop influence showing through. Combine this with the unabashed use of old VHS tape movie audio and mixing in more new school glitch-hop like Dabrye and the like, one comes away mesmerized by the auditory journey taken. This time around DJ Doc Brown will be holding it down solo, starting the party off and going continuously before and after all the acts.

DESCRIPTION:

We will be screening an exclusive clip from author Daniel Pinchbeck’s new documentary, 2012: A Time for Change. This night promises to be an evening of transformations with film screening, group discussion, performance art, and the psychedelic dance music/visual projections of the Megadrives. $7 suggested donation.

“Where will you be when the 5,125 year Long Count Calendar of the Classical Maya ends on December, 21, 2012? Will you be hiding in an underground cave from global cataclysm and magnetic polar reversal? Will you be entering a multidimensional realm of hyperspace triggered by mass activation of the pineal gland? Will you be picking up the pieces of a ruined world or dancing the night away at the party at the end of time?

Considering that nobody knows what’s going to happen in 2012, the end of the Mayan Calendar functions as a tremendously intriguing meme upon which we can project our hopes and fears, dreams and desires. Hollywood has now offered up a massive collective shadow projection in the form of a $250 million disaster epic that takes the aesthetics of annihilation to a new pitch of perfection. Paradoxically, this doom-riddled blockbuster could create a great opening to offer an alternative vision of what 2012 could be for our planet. Potentially, 2012 could represent the coming-to-consciousness of the human species, in which we take responsibility for our role as agents of conscious evolution.

A rising grassroots movement now realizes we can no longer expect governments, corporations, or any outside authority to create the beautiful world we long to live in. We have to do it ourselves. This growing network of Evolvers, Burners, Bioneers, Transition Towners, and others are developing new cooperative networks that can help heal our planet while providing sustainable solutions to the disastrously unsustainable economic and political systems that disempower people, keeping them asleep.

For this month’s Spore, over thirty cities will host conversations on 2012 and the evolution of consciousness, including ‘counter-screenings’ to Sony Pictures’ ‘2012′ world-catastrophe film. Spores may preview a portion of Mangusta Productions upcoming feature-length documentary ‘2012: Time for Change,’ directed by Joao Amorim and starring ‘2012′ author Daniel Pinchbeck, along with a section of Disinfo’s DVD ‘2012: Science our Superstition,’ produced by Gary Baddeley. Also, bestselling author John Major Jenkins will give a short video presentation for those participating in the Spores. Afterward, we will discuss indigenous prophecies and global transformation, and how to prepare ourselves and our communities for rapid changes to come.”
